The former Director General of Ghana’s Narcotics Control Commission, NACOC, Kenneth Adu Amanfoh, together with two other individuals, has been arraigned before a Kumasi Circuit Court over several charges, including theft, assault, and putting children at risk.
Adu Amanfoh, who once worked under the New Patriotic Party government, is said to have deployed armed officers from his office in a personal conflict involving his separated wife, Linda Adu Amanfoh, who is the complainant in the matter.
Based on a report by myjoyonline.com, the complainant alleges that the former NACOC head ordered armed men to approach her and forcefully remove their children from her custody in Kumasi.
Court records show that although Linda Adu Amanfoh reported the matter to authorities, her husband was not promptly detained after the complaint was filed.
The accused showed up in court on April 1, 2026, together with two associates, Prosper Aproma and Abraham Tetteh, who are suspected of having played roles in the alleged incident.
All three persons are facing five counts, including causing harm, assault, exposing children to danger, breach of public peace, and stealing.
They have all entered pleas of not guilty to the charges.
At the first court hearing, their legal representatives requested bail. However, the prosecution objected to any bail granted on self-recognition, insisting that sureties must be presented.
The court later granted bail to the accused individuals under certain conditions. Kenneth Adu Amanfoh was granted bail set at GH¢50,000 with two sureties, while each of the two co-accused persons received bail of GH¢40,000 with two sureties.
The case has been adjourned and is scheduled to resume in court on May 13, 2026.
